Herman Pirchner, 101, owned Cleveland's Alpine Village supper club


Herman Pirchner, who died Feb. 15, 2009, at age 101, played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment at his Alpine Village supper club on Playhouse Square in Cleveland from 1934 to 1961.

He also interviewed such celebrities, as Jack Dempsey, Bob Hope and George Gobel on his nationally syndicated radio show and a regional television show.
